We have now wrapped up Season 1 of Lucky to Be Here, and this summer (or winter, depending on where you are located), we are taking the time to catch up and dive into deeper explorations with our Season 1 guests.
In the coming weeks, we will be sharing in-between episodes that I have been recording with some of our guests to expand on their updates after we first recorded and released their episodes. We also dive into conversations on topics that speak to them and can be resources to all of us, including discussions on AI, navigating the grief of living as an immigrant, and discussions about higher education and academia as an industry.
But that is not all! I am also working on a special episode with key insights from our first season, and I would love to hear from you. Can I count on you? All you need to do is share with us a takeaway (or many) that stood out to you from the episodes you have listened to. You can do so by replying to this email, or commenting on this post on our Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/LuckytoBeHere before the end of June 2026 so I can feature you as part of our episode.
But this email would not be complete without some reflection or prompt, right?
If you are reading this during your summer, this is (ideally) a season of sunshine and some relaxation. It is also one in which we slow down from the demands of everyday routines. If you are reading this during your winter, then you are likely at a time of retreat and hibernation, although life does not always slow down as much as we need it to during this time, either. In both cases, there is room for catching our breaths and reflecting on where we are. After all, we are halfway through the year regardless of the season. [Side note: if you are interested in more in-depth explorations of seasons and life cycles, check out el Arenero and our seasonal discussions through poetry in The Poetry Nook].
So regardless of the season you are in, this is my invitation to you to take a minute to slow down, meet yourself where you are, and ask:
What have I learned so far this year about myself, my life, and those around me? Where do I want to go deeper (or not) in my life?
Join me in this exploration while we all collectively do so as part of Lucky to Be Here in the coming episodes.
