The difference between knowledge and wisdom is the pause that allows for integrating and reflecting what we learned. This last bonus episode of the first season of Lucky to Be Here is that pause.
In this short episode, I share with you four of the key takeaways from our first season, informed by all the interviews and discussions we have had, and by the comments and feedback that I gathered from all of you throughout this first season (and year!) of Lucky to Be Here. But they go beyond, because whether you are an immigrant, want to become one, or do not desire to pursue this path at all, these lessons can and will likely speak to you (especially if you are here).
The four takeaways that I discuss include discussions about our inner transformation, what it feels to ourselves and others, and the role of community (both close and loosely speaking). I encourage you to listen to this episode, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.
For today’s reflection, I want to offer a space of pause and integration. Just like I say with our podcast, I am convinced that we can all learn from our stories. The key is to understand what stories are top of mind, and what lessons we are taking away from them. So my question for you today is:
What stories (yours or others’) have been top-of-mind for you these days? Why?
May this brief prompt serve as an invitation to stop our inner dialogue for a minute, and get curious about what is fueling it.
As usual, you know I look forward to hearing what the episode (and season) and these questions spark for you, so please reply back to share. You can also leave your comments on YouTube or Spotify (and please rate and review to help us spread the word!).
See you in a few weeks for our one-year anniversary and the start of Season 2!
